Mixed Reality by SIMAVI

From the 18th to 20th of May 2022, Software Imagination & Vision (SIMAVI) participates, as an exhibitor, in the largest exhibition event in the field of defense industry in Central and Southern Europe, held at Romaero, in Bucharest.

BSDA, the international tri service Defence, Aerospace and Security exhibition, takes place every two years since 2007 and it is one of the biggest events in the world of defense industry.

The international fair BSDA brings together worldwide exhibitors, specialized visitors and official military delegations around the world who will present equipment and vehicles used for land, air and sea defense. Equipment and services related to the defense industry will also be exhibited.

The Romanian software integrator SIMAVI participates with modern training solutions for defense specialists, based on current technologies: Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and 3D.

SIMAVI solutions can be tested at booth C6709, inside the ROMAERO venue.

eLearning projects for Europe

"We love to develop eLearning! There is nothing more important than supporting education - in fact, it has a direct impact on the well-being and intelligence of nations over the years", says Alexandru Coșbuc-Ionescu, vice president and director of the SIMAVI Commercial Division.

"Military professionals benefit from efficient and modern eTraining. Because in this field, more than anywhere else, training and competence save lives and are a competitive advantage on the battlefield.

We have ongoing framework contracts with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Agencies, to whom we provide eLearning development courses and services.

We are convinced and we try to convince our clients that the future will belong, at least in technical and military education, to virtual or augmented reality. Students can now watch and practice what used to either dangerous, or difficult to experience. As an argument in support of our plea, the Pentagon has just invested $ 2 billion in these technologies, demonstrating the viability of solutions for day-to-day professional training activities.”

VR and AR technologies developed in the European project ISOLA, which you will see at BSDA 2022

The European research, development and innovation project ISOLA-Innovative & Integrated Security System on Board Covering the Life Cycle of a Passenger Ships Voyage, in which SIMAVI is partner, combines state-of-the-art technologies with innovative solutions to support large cruise ship security officers and crew - especially in emergency contingency plans.

For ISOLA, SIMAVI is developing an Augmented Reality application that assists the security officer on board the cruise ship. AR-based interfaces will provide a much improved picture of the situation with heads-up displays. The displays will allow crew members traveling on the ship to see the most important information in the command and control area without having to return to the office to access the screen.

The Romanian software company SIMAVI will also deliver the mobile application that communicates to passengers in extreme situations what the safety plans are.

Moreover, building on a vast experience of more than a decade of eLearning projects for the European Commission, SIMAVI will develop a Virtual Reality application to train crew members. Equipped with Oculus Quest headphones, VR users will be able to safely practice various safety scenarios.

This year's BSDA visitors will have the opportunity to watch a demo of this revolutionary type of training, using VR and AR equipment.

The 8th edition, which takes place between May 18 and 20 2022 at the ROMAERO Băneasa Venue, is organized by TNT Production Romania with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Interior and the US Embassy in Bucharest.
